It seems that nowadays people are too busy to be religious. Sunday is often the only day when we have time for shopping, house-cleaning and so on. People are interested in making money, being on top. God and religion start to bother them. They are unnecessary and make trouble. But do they really?
First of all religion plays an important role in our childhood. Grandmothers take their grandchildren to churches, teach them prayers from the earliest days of their lives. But when they grow up, they replaced prayers and church with friends, school and then jobs. So it looks like faith is something we forgot about. We make it less important. However we still can't imagine the holidays like Christmas or Easter without going to church. So is it only a tradition?
There is also another reason for saying that we still have a lot of religion hidden inside us. The death of John Paul II is an example of that. We have seen so many people praying for him as we havent seen for a long time. churches were full of people saying they just needed to be there, needed to pray. So we can see that there are some moments and situations when this deeply hide religion shows its strength .
I think that need for religion is big inside us. When tough moments come God is the only one we can count on. Despite all the temptations of consumption life we still want to believe that Someone cares about us and in my opinion it wont change so fast.
